What you’re looking at is, basically, my company. Quite shocking that if the table caught fire whilst I was taking this photo, I’d be utterly screwed!

Speaking of our awesome families, my aunt is now apparently an expert flower arranger. This was a surprise on two parts; 1. My aunt has another thing she is great at; 2. Charlotte chose white roses instead of lilies. You can just never know some people.

In other news, working from home/for yourself is awesome! I’ve just been database designing and coding all day! Two simultaneous honeymoon periods. I’m pretty lucky.

echohelloworld; now a company.

Business is hard. I’ve enjoyed working for other companies as it allows me a level of separation from things like tax, legal issues and insurance so that I can concentrate on doing what I do best. Considering the current climate, job hunting has become very competitive, especially where PHP is concerned – you can get a lite version of my skillset for so much less than I’m willing to work for, that not even I’d employ me right now! This, and many other things, has lead me to take the plunge and start my own company consulting and developing applications (purposefully avoiding using the word “solutions”) for people who are serious about the web.

I’ve always wanted a lovely Moleskine. I was going to get a nice pen as well, y’know to make me look all pro, but I write much better with a bic (proper bic, mind you) so I left it. I’ve already started making some plans as to how my new portfolio is going to look, and my new blog design is looking pretty good if I do say so. It should be finished soon. I’m really getting to love WordPress quite a lot.
