We spent the holiday period at Charlotte’s parents’ house. Took Sudo and Amelie with us. After 5 days of playing and stressing, respectively, they were glad for a rest once we got home.

I’ve known for a long time that Sudo was creative. Today, he had a brilliant idea; he was going to make a pillow. He doesn’t let his lack of thumbs get in his way – that’s one of my favourite things about him.

Could I use this as a pillow?

I think I could, but I've got to be super smooth and subtle.

Yep, I’m one of those people who pretends to be their pets’ parent. I’m also one of those people who narrates their animals’ lives whilst self-referencing in the third person. We’ve all seen the “Look Who’s Talking” movies. I was brainwashed, man.

The investment of time in getting Sudo to respond fairly well to my will is paying dividends now that he’s older and more photogenic. He sits perfectly still when I ask, and I’ve been able to get some (I think) lovely portraits of him.

It’s also great to not be in danger of being tripped down the stairs by a dog who is racing you to the top.

I’ve started obsessively turning lights off. If I’m not in a room, the light has to be off. Charlotte is very anti-dark (light?). She leaves every light on ever. As a compromise, she’s taken to wearing a head-torch everywhere when it’s dark outside. It’s pretty adorable.

(Also, Camera+ has this new pack of analogue-looking filter effects. They’ve basically rendered Hipstamatic and Instagram obsolete (though I’ve never seen worth in Instagram). Good for them, huh?)
