Amelie told me (through the medium of being a cat slag) that she’s sick of all these little cats and dogs having their photo taken. Why not her?! She can be just as cute as any of those other things (her words, not mine).

Yes, I am one of those people who talks to animals. And plants. And computers. And furniture. And food. Working from home can be lonely.

Today, as a favour, and thinly veiled attempt to look at cute little kittens, we’re looking after Benjie and Jem’s cat Artemis and her day-old kittens. Not exactly an ideal situation for day-old kittens, I agree, but there’s really no other option.

Amelie does not know what to make of it all.

I think this is so cute. Amelie comes into my office in the afternoon if the blind is open and sleeps in the light that comes through the window. When the light moves, the cat moves, and my legs go on the radiator so she has space.

Lyndsey and Paul have kittens. We are jealous. They need names. Suggestions?

She’s been sleeping in some weird-ass positions recently!

Flies love to torment Amelie by sitting on the window ledge. She goes absolutely mad for them; it’s hilarious.

Weird-behaving cat at the moment. I still don’t think she’s used to us being around on weekends and less around in the week. We play with her (and Eva, when she’s in the mood) so much that I think she just gets confused when she can’t play, but it’s the same time of day.

It hadn’t really occurred to me that animals don’t really have a concept of the weekend.
