I have really not been interested in the old camera recently. I’m riding a video game, inflammatory writing and coding wave at the moment. My poor guitar.

All things considered, I quite like these. The reflections and distractions make this something I would normally just listen to music instead of, but I had my camera and wanted to use it so there.

1Failed long exposures in Brighton

Awesome legal wall. Some really cool stuff on there, but taking photos of other people’s art is lame. These shapes, however, are not.

I need to remember not to get so close to the sea. These worked OK, except the white balance was totally shot and took quite a lot of level tweaking to get right (another great reason to shoot RAW, not that I need convincing) and there was loads of spray from the waves as it was pretty rough today. Ah well, you live and learn.

If I lived in Brighton and was doing another 365, I don’t think I’d ever need to resort to drawing numbers in pebbles on the beach, but it drew some interest.

The end of a journey.

Recently been holed-up (that sounds like it should mean something else) with a project that’s set to drop Monday. Friday marked the end of payment gateway testing and end-tying-up and we’re basically there. I’ve got a screencast to record and some stuff for my own peace of mind, so tomorrow will be a work day as well, but this site is so worth it.

Since starting at buffalo, I’ve gone from kinda soured towards programming and work in general to liberated by both. I’ve got an amazing amount of freedom both personal and professional (can you go out for 2 hours in the day to get tattooed without making excuses? No? I can) and (I’m allowed to say this because it’s true) I’ve produced 2 amazing websites since being there.

Anyway, photos:

Went to Brighton to see buffalo about some work and they’re awesome. Very excited about it!

Really missing my 24-70. Still, give me 2 weeks and £400 and it’ll be back.

132 101008 – Brighton Marina

The marina doesn’t look anywhere near as good from inside as it does from outside. Seagulls and pigeons use you for target practice. It is not fun.

130 081008 – Brighton Beach

It’s been a bit of a hectic week. Couple of days in Brighton, couple of days back home, covered like 400 miles in five days. We’re both pretty tired.

We loved Brighton. Everywhere is vegetarian-friendly. There are restaurants, a fast-food place, shoe shops, a supermarket – tonnes of stuff for vegetarians and vegans. Add to that some amazing architecture, a beach, a pier and shops coming out the whazoo and it makes for a very awesome place. I could spend days wandering round there with my camera. I actually might.

Can’t really miss out The Cavalaire, excellent hotel we stayed at for the couple of days. Be prepared to eat lots for breakfast.

126 041008 – A Holiday!!

This is what I get when I say “pull a straight face, it might work”. I know they say “don’t work with children or animals”, but I get more hassle from (supposed) adults in front of a camera! If this wasn’t so funny, I’d have discarded it as I’m totally blurred!

I’m excited to be having two weeks off. I’ve not really had any proper time off this year (excluding a week in June, but we were mostly flat hunting so that doesn’t count) and considering my workload recently, this holiday is so welcome! Today, I booked in for my dermal punch with kalima in Worthing and I’m incredibly excited (and a little bit scared). I’m hopefully going to go for 10mm (what I was originally hoping to get with stretching), but if not I’ll go for 8 then stretch.

We’re also going for some fun days in Brighton. The veggie scene there is supposedly great, so we’re looking for restaurants and things to do. If anyone knows of anything veggie-friendly/photogenic/just fun, I’d love to hear about it. Otherwise we’ll just be hunting round looking at the sea, which I love anyway!
