276: great customer service

Went into LCE to find out if they knew anything about my lens repair. Their response to the long lead time (because not many people have snapped the brand new 24-70 yet!) getting the replacement products, they’ve given me this loaner lens for free until mine’s ready.

Now, they are clearly not obliged to do this – breaking that lens was my own stupid fault, and they’ve already been really helpful in getting the repair sorted. The only business reason I can think of (aside from guaranteeing my return custom) is that there’s no reason not to do it. If I don’t return the loaner, they get to keep mine, if I do, no-one’s lost anything.

It’s service like this that is the reason the high street can’t die. I could probably have saved some money buying online, but where would I be right now if I had?
